The Blue Ones are returning to complete their mission. Recently, Apple TV+ revealed that its highly praised Spanish-language crime show will be continuing. Women in Blue (The Blues) has been renewed.

The Ariel Award-nominated actress Bárbara Mori will return to play the character María opposite stars Ximena Sariñana, Natalial Téllez, and Amorita Rasgado. The show’s second season, comprising eight episodes, boasts an exclusively Latin American cast. Women in Blue (The Blues) is now in production.

Since its global debut, Women in Blue (The Blues) remains widely celebrated for its bold narrative approach and has been lauded as "utterly impeccable" with a "captivating plot." This work cleverly blends elements of suspense, humor, and social critique, particularly highlighting disparities between genders.

In 1971, based on real-life occurrences, the show's second season carries forward with the tale of four women challenging the strict conventions of their era as they form Mexico’s inaugural team of female officers.

Having been elevated to the rank of lieutenant, María (Mori) now faces a dilemma as she struggles with her duty to enforce the law and an unstoppable drive toward uncovering the truth. This internal conflict intensifies after the killing of a college student leads to additional fatalities and exposes a complex web of deceit.

As the murders become more brazen and the distinctions among criminal, target, and vengeance seeker start to fade, María, Ángeles (Sariñana), Gabina (Rasgado), and Valentina (Téllez) find themselves entangled in a web of hidden truths and harrowing revelations.

Women in Blue (The Blues) Created by International Emmy Award-winning showrunner and director Fernando Rovsar along with Pablo Aramendi, this series also counts among its executive producers Emmy Award-nominated Wendy Riss, Erica Sánchez Suárez, and International Emmy Award victor Billy Rovsar.
